4Safety PrecautionsBefore you use the Waterproof Case, thoroughlyread these precautions to ensure correct use.The precautions described below are for ensuringsafe use of the Waterproof Case and forpreventing danger and damage to yourself andothers. Thoroughly understand the details of theseprecautions before reading the rest of this manual.• After you use the Waterproof Case, be sure toremove the camera from it. If you leave theWaterproof Case containing the camera indirect sunlight or in a high-temperature place,this may cause a fire or the case to burst.• Do not use the Waterproof Case in place of apersonal flotation device (life preserver).• Do not use the neck strap underwater.Remove the neck strap and attach the wriststrap before use underwater. There is dangerthat the neck strap will become entangled andcause strangulation or another mishap.• Do not use the Waterproof Case at depthsexceeding 40 meters (130 ft.). The case maymalfunction, suffer damage or leak.• Do not press the buttons or the lever of theWaterproof Case with unnecessary force whenin the water. This may warp the casing andcause leaks.• When cleaning the case, do not spray water atthe waterproof seal under pressure. This maycause leaks.• Do not disassemble or modify the WaterproofCase. This may cause leaks.• Do not damage the waterproof seal, scratch itscontact surfaces, or allow dirt, sand, hair orother debris to accumulate between thewaterproof seal and the case. This may causeleaks.• Do not use the Waterproof Case in water attemperatures above 40 °C (104 °F). Heat maywarp the casing and cause leaks.• Do not leave the Waterproof Case in directsunlight, inside a car in hot weather, or near aheater. Heat may warp the casing and causeleaks. Cover it with a towel, for example, if youhave to leave it in the sun.COPY
