27 Loading the Ink CassetteProper Handling of Ink Cassettes "Ink Cassettes" (p. 15)Do not reuse empty ink cassettes. Attempting to reuse an empty ink cassette may result inmalfunction or damage to the printer.1 Take up the slack in thecassette’s ink sheet.z If the ink sheet is slack, push in on thesprocket in the figure, and turn itgently to take up the slack until the inksheet straightens out.It will not be possible to print to all of thepaper if you overwind the ink sheet.2 Open the ink cassettecompartment cover, and insertthe ink cassette all the way intothe compartment.z Push the cassette all the way in, so that itclicks into place.z When you are ready to remove the inkcassette, lift the clip and pull the cassetteout.Be careful to avoid touching or pulling onthe ink sheet when inserting the inkcassette.3 Close the ink cassette compartmentcover.You can check the name of the ink cassetteloaded in the printer.CP710: Viewing the LCD monitor display (p. 35)CP510: Viewing the display window on the top ofthe printer (p. 21)Ink sheetPush in on thesprocket and turngently.Clip12Arrow side facing up
