48To Release the AF LockPress the / button.z When shooting with the focus lock or AF lock using the LCDmonitor, setting [AiAF] to [Off] (p. 28) makes shooting easiersince the camera focuses using the center AF frame only.z The AF lock is convenient because you can let go of theshutter button to compose the image. Moreover, the AFlock is still effective after the picture is taken, allowing youto capture a second image with the same focus.You can set the exposure and focus separately. This is effectivewhen the contrast is too strong between the subject andbackground or when a subject is backlit.To Release the AE LockPress the button.4 Re-aim the camera to compose the shot asdesired and shoot.Locking the Exposure Setting (AE Lock)Shooting ModeYou must set the flash to [ ].
