– 23 –Scanner RecognitionIf you are using Windows 98/Me/2000 or Windows XP,then the first time that you turn on your computer afterconnecting this scanner to your computer, Windows Plugand Play automatically displays a screen prompting you toinstall the scanner driver. Follow the instructions on thescreen to proceed with the installation.NOTE• The device that is detected differs depending onthe connection (SCSI or USB)• When the scanner is recognized normally, thescanner is recognized by the device manager as“CANON MS800 SCSI” regardless of the con-nection used.• When the connection to the computer ischanged, the scanner recognition may be re-quired.In the Case of Windows 98/MeWhen you are using the Windows 98/Me, only a SCSIconnection can be used.
