Electrical CircuitryThe sequence of operations used for the saddle stitcher is controlled by the saddle stitchercontroller PCB. The saddle stitcher controller PCB has a microprocessor, and is used to control thesequence of operations and to handle serial communications with the finisher controller PCB, driv-ing solenoids and motors in response to the various commands from the finisher controller PCB.The saddle stitcher controller PCB is also used to communicate the state of various sensors andswitches to the finisher controller PCB in serial. The functions of the major ICs mounted on the saddle stitcher controller PCB are as follows:l Q1Controls the sequence of operations.l Q2Contains the sequence program.l Q3Controls the sequence of operations.l Q4Handles IPC communications.SensorSwitchSaddle stitchercontroller PCBQ1 CPUQ2ROMQ3RAMQ4Communications ICSolenoidMotorMotorFinisher controller PCB CopierFigure 3-102
