6-13Using the Fax FunctionsFax/Tel modeYou can receive faxes automatically (The telephone rings on an incoming call). To disable audible incoming rings, see “IncomingRing” (→P.6-26).You can answer incoming calls by picking up the handset.Operation for when an incoming call is receivedAn incoming call rings for the specified number of times.*1When you do not pick up the handsetwithin the specified number of timesWhen you pick up the handset withinthe specified number of timesWhen the call is a fax When the callis a voice callYou can hear abeep.Following theprocedure below, receive thefax.(1) Press [Fax].(2) Press [ ] or [ ] to select, andthen press [OK].(3) Hang up the handset.You can starttalking as is.The machine judges whether theincoming call is a fax or voice call.*2When the call isa faxWhen the call isa voice callThe machine receivesthe fax automatically.The telephone rings. *3When you pick up thehandset during ringingWhen you do not pick upthe handset during ringingYou can start talking as is.
