This Service Manual describes the basic information required when servicing BJ-W7000 Printer in orderto maintain quality and performance at an optimum. This manual is divided into the following six sections.Chapter 1 General Introduction : Describes the feature, specifications, operation method andhandling precautions of the BJ-W7000 Printer.Chapter 2 Operation : Describes the operating principles of the mechanical andelectrical systems by function.Chapter 3 Mechanical System : Describes how to disassemble and assemble the mechanicalsystemChapter 4 Maintenance and Inspection : Lists the periodic replacement parts table, target wear tablefor consumables and the periodic servicing table.Chapter 5 Troubleshooting : Describes maintenance and inspection, standards, adjustment, how to remedy faulty image reproduction andhow to remedy faulty operation.Appendix : Circuit diagram, PCB wiring diagrams, etc.The following rules apply throughout this Service Manual:= . Each chapter contains sections explaining the purpose of specific functions and the relationshipbetween electrical and mechanical systems with reference to the timing of operation. In the diagrams, =acucecer represents the mechanical drive path, —--> indicates the direction ofthe electric signal.2. In the digital circuits, ‘1’ is used to indicate that the voltage level of a given signal is “High,” while ‘0’ isused to indicate “Low.” (The voltage value, however, differs from circuit to circuit.)3. In practically ail cases, the internal mechanisms of a microprocessor cannot be checked in the field. Therefore, the operation of the microprocessors used in the machines are not discussed. The descriptions in this Service Manual are subject to change without notice for product improvement orother reasons, and major changes will be communicated in the form of Service Information. All service persons are expected to have a good understanding of the contents of this Service Manual andall relevant Service Information and be able to identify and isolate faults in the machine.COPYRIGHT © 1998 CANON INC. .
