MAINTENANCE PROCEDURESOil Change and Oil FilterReplacementOil and filter are to be replaced at thesame time.Oil change should be done with a warmengine.WARNINGThe engine oil can be very hot. Inorder to avoid potential burns, donot remove the engine drain plugor the filter cover if the engine ishot. Wait until engine oil is warm.Ensure vehicle is on a level surface.Remove dipstick.Clean the oil drain plug area.Place a drain pan under the oil drainplug area.Unscrew oil drain plug.vmo2006-007-019_aTYPICAL1. Oil drain plug2. Brake pedalAllow enough time for oil to flow out ofoil filter.Remove the right engine cover.Unscrew the oil filter cover.vmo2006-007-020_a1. Oil filter coverRemove the oil filter and replace with anew filter.Check the cover O-ring and change it ifnecessary.Screw oil filter cover in place.Wipe out any oil spillage on engine.Change gasket on oil drain plug.Clean gasket area on engine and oildrain plug then reinstall plug.Refill engine at the proper level withthe recommended oil.Refer toSPECIFICATIONS for oil ca-pacity.Start engine and let idle for a few min-utes.Ensure oil filter area and oil drain plugareas are not leaking.Stop engine.Wait a while to allow oil to flow down tocrankcase then check oil level.Refill as necessary.Dispose of oil as per your local environ-mental regulations.RadiatorRadiator InspectionPeriodically check the radiator area forcleanliness.88 ______________
