Section 2. Hardware Installation2.4.11 Sensor Verification and Clock Set1. Send the weather station program to the station using your CampbellScientific software such as VisualWeather, PC400, or LoggerNet. Verifyall sensors are functioning correctly. Verify the weather station clock andset as necessary.The ET107 comes with a default program (see Appendix D).NOTEUse standard time in the station if calculating evapotranspiration(ETsz). Do not use daylight savings time.NOTE2. Additional Station Communication Options:a) The station can be accessed directly using a CR1000KD keypaddisplay at the weather station. Plug the keypad into the extra plugcoming off the 9-pin connector marked “CS I/O”.b) A laptop can be used to connect directly to the RS-232 port at thestation using a standard 9-pin serial cable. Do NOT use a null modemcable.c) The station can be connected directly to using a Palm with CSIPConnect software and connector/cable or PConnect CE if using aWindows CE based handheld with connector/cable.2.5 Communication PeripheralsOnly one communication kit can be mounted inside the ET enclosure.Communication kits ordered with the ET Enclosure are pre-mounted and pre-wired; no further connections inside the enclosure are necessary. Follow the"External Installation" procedures in later sections to make the externalconnections.If you received a telecommunication kit separate from the ET Enclosure,follow the "Internal Installation" procedures outlined in later sections.Schematics for the phone and short haul modems are in Section 4.3.3.Default settings for the CR1000 in the ET107 station.• PakBus address 1• RS-232 Port: Autobaud (300 – 115,200 Baud)• ME: Autobaud• SDC7 or SDC8: 115,200 Baud2.5.1 Direct Connect to ET107 StationThe ET107 station does not require an interface device for direct RS-232communication. The inside of the enclosure has a RS-232 and CS I/O portavailable for communication (see Figure 2.5-1). Most standard communicationoptions use the CS I/O port leaving the RS-232 port free for directcommunication with a laptop or desktop computer using a standard RS-2322-24
