The traction controlsystem limits wheelspinand the StabiliTrakstability control systemassists with directionalcontrol of the vehicle indifficult driving conditions.Both systems turn onautomatically every timethe vehicle is started.Turning the Systems Off/On• Press the Traction Control/StabiliTrak button on thecenter of the instrument panel to turn off traction control. TheTraction Control Off light on the instrument cluster willilluminate.• Press and hold the button to turn off StabiliTrak. TheStabiliTrak Off light on the instrument cluster will illuminate.• Press the button again to turn on either system.See Driving and Operating in your Owner Manual.18Automatic Transmission Tap Shift StabiliTrak® /Traction Control SystemsThe 6-speed automatic transmission has a Tap Shift mode thatallows you to shift gears similar to a manual transmission.Using Tap Shift1. Move the shift lever to the M (Manual Mode) position.2. Using the buttons on the back of the steering wheel, tap theleft (–) button to downshift and the right (+) button to upshift.The current gear selection will be shown in the DIC and HUD♦.If current vehicle speed is too high or too low for the requestedgear, the shift will not occur. When coming to a stop, the transmis-sion will automatically shift to 1st gear.Note: Changing to the Manual Mode also changes the Magnetic RideControl settings.See Driving and Operating in your Owner Manual.
