To get the maximum resolution from a 960Hcamera, you need to select a lens which can matchsensor resolution not only at the center, but also atthe edges and at different iris openings.The Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) specificationis an indication of the resolution, contrast, andsharpness performance of a lens. Lens resolution isnormally measured in line pairs per millimeter (lp/mm). The MTF of each lens gives the maximumresolution in terms of lp/mm for a given scene.Both the LVF-4000C and LVF-5000C range haveexcellent daytime resolution. The LVF-5000C range isbest suited to wide dynamic range (WDR) cameras andcameras that are used to capture more details atnight. The LTC 3664/31 lens offers excellentperformance in low-light scenes with an aperture ofF1.0.The measured MTF specifications are only one aspectof a lens’s quality.
