Please refer to the laws that should beattended in your country.3 Installation3.1 Important informationB Before installing, call the gas company and check thestandard relating to gas heaters and ventilationrequirements for rooms.B Install a gas cut-off valve as close as possible to theheater.B After finishing the gas system, the pipes must bethoroughly cleaned and leak-tested; to avoiddamaging the gas automatic by excess pressure, thistest must be performed with the gas valve of theheater closed.B Check if the heater corresponds to the type of gasprovided.B Check if the flow and pressure through the installedreducer are appropriate for the consumption of theheater (see technical data in the table 4).3.2 Selection of the place ofinstallationRequirements regarding the place of installation• Do not install the heater in rooms with a volume ofless than 8 m3 (not including the volume of thefurniture providing this does not exceed 2 m3.• Comply with the specific instructions for eachcountry.• Assemble the gas heater in a well-ventilated locationwhere it will not be exposed to temperatures belowzero and in a place where there is an evacuation pipefor combustion gases.• The gas heater must not be installed over a heatsource.• To avoid corrosion, the combustion air must be freefrom harmful substances. Examples of particularlycorrosive substances: halogenated hydrocarbonscontained in solvents, paints, glues, engine gasesand various domestic detergents. If necessary, takeadequate measures.• Respect the minimum installation clearancesindicated in Fig. 4.• The heater must not be installed in locations wherethe room temperature can reach 0 °C.In case of a frost risk:B Turn the heater offB Remove batteriesB Purge the heater (see section 6.3).Fig. 4 Minimum clearancesCombustion gases• All gas heaters must be connected in a leak-roofmanner to a gas evacuation pipe of adequatedimensions.• The flue must:– be vertical (reduced horizontal sections or nohorizontal sections at all)– be thermally insulated– have an exit above the maximum roof level• A flexible or rigid pipe should be used, fit it inside theflue socket. The external diameter of the pipe shouldbe slightly smaller than the dimension specified in theappliances dimensions table.• The extremity of the evacuation pipe must beprotected against wind/rain.i The gas installation, the connection of ex-haust/supply pipes as well as the initialstartup are to be performed exclusively byauthorised gas fitters.i The heater can only be used in the coun-tries indicated on the rating plate.Caution: Ensure that the extremity ofthe evacuation pipe is placed betweenthe ledge and the ring of the flue. |
