Failure to followthe below warnings could result in death or serious in-jury.Save all safety warnings and instructions for fu-ture reference.The term battery pack used in these operating in-structions refers to all original Bosch eBike batterypacks.DANGERu Do not puncture or crush the battery pack. Donot impact the battery pack or modify it in anyway. Do not use the battery pack if it shows visibledamage. Danger of fire or explosion which cancause death or serious injury.max.140°FProtect the battery pack against heat(e.g., temperature >140 °F), fire andimmersing into water. Danger of ex-plosion.WARNINGu Use only original Bosch battery packs approvedfor your eBike by the manufacturer and pur-chased from a credible source. Use of non-ap-proved or counterfeit battery packs can lead todeath or serious injury.u Remove the battery from the eBike before be-ginning work (e.g. inspection, repair, assembly,maintenance, work on the chain, etc.) on theeBike, transporting it with a car or airplane, orstoring it. Unintentional activation of the eBike sys-tem poses a risk of injury.u Do not open the battery. There is a risk of short-circuiting. Opening the battery voids any and allwarranty claims.u When the battery is not in use, keep it away frompaper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or othersmall metal objects that could make a connec-tion from one terminal to another. A short circuitbetween the battery terminals may cause burns or afire. Short circuit damage which occurs in this in-stance voids any and all warranty claims againstBosch.u Avoid mechanical loads and exposure to hightemperatures. These can damage the battery cellsand cause the flammable contents to leak out.u Do not place the charger or the battery nearflammable materials. Ensure the battery is com-pletely dry and placed on a fireproof surface be-fore charging. There is a risk of fire due to the heatgenerated during charging.u The eBike battery must not be left unattendedwhile charging.u If used incorrectly, liquid may leak from the bat-tery. Contact with this liquid should be avoided.If contact accidentally occurs, rinse off with wa-ter. If the liquid comes into contact with youreyes, seek additional medical attention. Liquidleaking from the battery may cause irritation orscalding.u Batteries must not be subjected to mechanicalshock. There is a risk of the battery being damaged.u The battery may give off fumes if it becomesdamaged or is used incorrectly. Ensure the areais well ventilated and seek medical attentionshould you experience any adverse effects. Thefumes may irritate the respiratory system.u Only charge the battery using original Boschchargers. When using chargers that are not madeby Bosch, the risk of fire cannot be excluded.u Use the battery only in conjunction with eBikesthat have original Bosch eBike drive systems.
