Use the included screws tosecure the brackets at the bottom of the water heater tothe wall. If the wall is sheathed with plaster or drywall, itis recommended that a support board be first attachedacross a pair of studs at the bottom of the unit as shownin Fig. 29.Fig. 32 Mounting the heater in manufactured (mobile)homes3.9 Gas piping & connectionsBefore connecting the gas supply, check the ratingplate on the right side of the heater to be sure that theheater is rated for the same gas to which it will beconnected.In the United States: The installation must conform withlocal codes or, in the absence of local codes, theNational Fuel Gas Code ANSI Z223.1/NFPA 54.In Canada: The Installation must conform to CSA B149INSTALLATION CODES and/or local installationcodes.GAS CONNECTIONSB Install a manual gas shut off valve on the gas supplyline within easy reach of the appliance.B Install a union when connecting gas supply.B The minimum internal diameter required forany appliance connector is ¾”, see Fig. 35 formore details on pipe sizing.B Undersized flexible appliance connector not permit-ted.B National Fuel Gas Code requires that a sedimenttrap (drip leg) be installed on gas appliances not soequipped. The drip leg must be accessible and notsubject to freezing conditions.
