Loosen wing nuts enough to allow screwheads to slide out of foot plate mountingholes provided in guard, and remove footplate.4. Remove the four gear housing screws androtate gear housing 180˚. Replace housingscrews and securely tighten screws.5. Loosen guard securing cap screw androtate guard for maximum wheel coverageand securely tighten guard securing capscrew with the wrench provided.6. Remove the auxiliary handle mountingbolts, reposition handle using auxiliary hole inhandle, replace mounting bolts and securelytighten handle.7. Re-assemble foot plate and abrasivewheel.ServicePreventive maintenanceperformed by unauth-orized personnel may result in misplacingof internal wires and components whichcould cause serious hazard. Werecommend that all tool service be performedby a Bosch Factory Service Center or Autho-rized Bosch Service Station.TOOL LUBRICATIONYour Bosch tool has been properly lubricatedand is ready to use. It is recommended thattools with gears be regreased with a specialgear lubricant at every brush change.CARBON BRUSHESThe brushes and commutator in your toolhave been engineered for many hours ofdependable service. To maintain peakefficiency of the motor, we recommend everytwo to six months the brushes be examined.Only genuine Bosch replacement brushesspecially designed for your tool should beused.BEARINGSAfter about 300-400 hours of operation, or atevery second brush change, the bearingsshould be replaced at Bosch Factory ServiceCenter or Authorized Bosch Service Station.Bearings which become noisy (due to heavyload or very abrasive material cutting) shouldbe replaced at once to avoid overheating ormotor failure.CleaningTo avoid accidents alwaysdis connect the tool fromthe power supply before cleaning orperforming any maintenance. The tool maybe cleaned most effectively with compresseddry air. Always wear safety goggles whencleaning tools with compressed air.Ventilation openings and switch levers mustbe kept clean and free of foreign matter. Donot at tempt to clean by inserting pointedobjects through openings.Certain cleaning agentsand sol vents damageplastic parts.
