Inparticular, avoid getting the charge socket and the con-tacts dirty, e. g., with sand or soil.Checking the Battery Pack Before Usingfor the First TimeCheck the battery pack before charging it or using it withyour eBike for the first time.To do this, press the On/Off button A4 to switch on the bat-tery pack. If no LED for the charge-control indicator A3lights up, then the battery pack may be damaged.When at least one of the LEDs, but not all, for the charge-control indicator A3 is lit, then fully charge the battery packbefore using it for the first time. Do not attempt to charge or use a damaged batterypack. Please contact an authorized Bosch eBike dealer.Charging the Battery Pack Only use the Bosch charger provided with your eBikeor an identical original Bosch charger. Only this char-ger is matched to the lithium-ion battery pack used inyour eBike.Notice: The battery pack is supplied partially charged. Toensure full battery pack capacity, completely charge thebattery pack in the charger before using it for the first time.To charge the battery pack, read and follow the operatinginstructions for the charger.The battery pack can be recharged at any time on its own oron the bike without shortening the its service life. Interrupt-ing the charging process does not damage the battery pack.The battery pack is equipped with a temperature control in-dicator, which enables charging only within a temperaturerange between 32 °F and 104 °F.When the battery pack is not within thecharging temperature range, threeLEDs of the charge-control indicator A3flash. Disconnect the battery pack from the charger until itstemperature has adjusted. CAUTION: Do not connect the battery pack to thecharger until it has reached the permissible chargingtemperature.Charge-control IndicatorWhen the battery pack is switched on, the five green LEDsfor the charge-control indicator A3 indicate the charge con-dition of the battery pack.Here, each LED indicates approx. 20 % capacity. When thebattery pack is completely charged, all five LEDs light up.The charge-control for the switched on battery pack is alsoindicated on the display for the display unit.
