Parts must be washed before being recycled.aSSemblybattery inStallationWarning: batteries can explode, or leak, and can cause injury or fire.To reduce this risk:• Carefully follow all instructions and warnings on the battery label and package.• Always insert batteries correctly with regard to polarity (+ and -), marked on the battery andthe equipment.• Do not short battery terminals.• Do not charge batteries.• Do not mix old and new batteries. Replace all of them at the same time with new batteries ofthe same brand and type.• Remove dead batteries immediately and dispose of per local codes.• Do not dispose of batteries in fire.• Keep batteries out of reach of children.• Remove batteries if the device will not be used for several months.“Transporting batteries can possibly cause fires if the battery terminals inadvertently comein contact with conductive materials such as keys, coins, hand tools and the like. So when transportingindividual batteries, make sure that the battery terminals areprotected and well insulated from materials that could contactthem and cause a short circuit”.• Remove the battery cap (4) by pressing in the battery releasetabs (5) and then sliding the battery cap (4) off the handle.• Insert 3 fresh 1.5 volt AA batteries into the handle asshown in figure b.• Refit the battery cap (4) by sliding it back on to the handleuntil it is firmly seated.note: Always place batteries correctly according to thepolarity (+ and -) as marked on the battery and the tool.inStalling tHe paint applicator (C)• Press in the paint applicator release tabs (7).• Slide the paint applicator into the front of the main body (1)of the paint edger until it is firmly seated.• Release the tabs.note: The paint applicator can not be fitted with the painttube in place.removing tHe paint applicator• Press in the paint applicator release tabs (7).• Slide the paint applicator out of the main body (1) of the paint edger.• Release the tabs (7).note: The paint applicator can not be removed with the paint tube in place.inStalling tHe paint tube (D, E)note: The paint tube can not be attached until the paint applicator has been installed.• Pull the plunger drive (10) to the back of the main body ofthe paint edger and clip it in place as shown in figure D.• Slide the paint tube (8) forward into the main body of thepaint edger as shown in figure e.ntoe: Ensure the paint tube is fully seated in the main bodyby firmly pressing it forward.• Pull the plunger drive back and up to release it, then gentlyguide the plunger drive’s tip into the recess on the top ofthe plunger.note: The plunger drive will not push the plunger until ithas been unclipped from the locked position.removing tHe paint tube• Pull the plunger drive to the back of the main body of thepaint edger and clip it in place.• Pull paint tube backwards and lift the paint tube out of themain body of the paint edger.Warning: read all safety warnings and all instructions.
