Page 12SET UP & USEWARNINGTo reduce the risk of fire or explosion, do not dry items that have been previouslycleaned, washed, soaked, or spotted with gasoline, dry cleaning solvents, or otherflammable or explosive substances. They emit vapors that could ignite or explode.Any material that has been in contact with cleaning solvents or flammable liquids orsolids should not be placed in the dryer until all traces of these flammable liquids orsolids and their fumes have been removed. There are many highly flammable itemsused in homes, such as acetone, denatured alcohol, gasoline, kerosene, some liquidhousehold cleaners, some spot removers, turpentine, waxes, and wax removers.Do not dry items containing foam rubber (may be labeled latex foam) or similarlytextured rubber-like materials on a heat setting. Heated foam rubber materials can,under certain circumstances, produce fire by spontaneous combustion.Sorting and Loading• Always follow fabric manufacturer’s care label.• If using fabric softener or other products to eliminate static, follow all instructionson the product package. Improper use may cause stains.• Do not overload. Overloading restricts tumbling action, resulting in unevendrying as well as excessive wrinkling of some fabrics. The drum should not beloaded more than ½ full.• Mixed loads of heavy and light weight fabrics will dry differently, which mayresult in lightweight fabrics being dry while heavy fabrics remain damp at theend of a drying cycle. Add one or more similarly sized items to your dryer whenonly one or two articles of clothing need drying. This improves the tumblingaction and drying efficiency.• Small articles or items that can be tangled, can be dried in a laundry bag.• Items with buttons should be buttoned up. Items with zippers should be zippedup. These items should be turned inside out to dry.CLEANING AND MAINTENANCEWARNINGUnplug the power cord before cleaning any part of the unit. The dryer should becleaned regularly. Failure to maintain the unit in a clean condition could lead todeterioration of the surface which could adversely affect the life of the appliance.Do not use harsh chemicals or solvents on any part of the machine or pour water orcleaner directly on it.Cleaning the ExteriorClean with a soft, damp cloth or a mild soap and water solution. Do not use abrasivepowders or pads. Do not spray cleaners directly onto the control panel.Cleaning the DrumUse a damp cloth with a mild non-abrasive cleaner suitable for stainless steel andanodized surfaces. Remove the cleaner residue and dry with a clean cloth. |
