6ENGLISHTo replace a broken tube (fig. B)Always replace a broken bulb in a well ventilated area.X Rotate the cap (4) counter clockwise (fig. B).X Carefully pull the fluorescent tube access cover out ofthe opening.X Remove the two screws (9) from the clear plastichousing. Rotate the cover upward to allow access to thebroken tube. Wearing protective gloves, remove thebroken glass or tube.X Move the clear plastic housing back to the closedposition and replace the screws (9).X Insert the new tube (3) in the same orientation as the oldtube making sure it is fully seated. Replace thefluorescent tube access cover.X Replace the cap (4).Bungee cord (fig. C)Warning! When the area work light is hung by the bungeecord (2), do not shake the work light or the object that it ishanging from.Do not hang the area work light from any electrical wires oranything that is not secure. Personal injury or propertydamage may occur.Only use the bungee cord for hanging the area work light.The bungee cord is not intended to support additionalweight.Do not attach or hang anything additional to the work light orrisk of breakage may occur.The built-in bungee cord (2) nests in the handle (1). Thebungee cord can be extended away from the handle andused to hang the work light (fig. C). The bungee cord (2) canalso be removed from one end if required.Rotating the light housing (fig. D & E)X The handle (1) can be moved by pressing down on thehandle release button (10) (fig. E) and rotating thehandle into one of six locked positions. The differenthandle positions can be used to carry the area work lightor to lean the work light back on the handle for stationaryuse.MaintenanceYour Black & Decker tool has been designed to operate overa long period of time with a minimum of maintenance.Continuous satisfactory operation depends upon proper toolcare and regular cleaning.Warning! Before performing any maintenance or cleaningon the appliance, unplug the appliance.X From time to time wipe the appliance with a damp cloth.Do not use any abrasive or solvent-based cleaner. Donot immerse the appliance in water.Protecting the environmentShould you find one day that your appliance needsreplacement, or if it is of no further use to you, think of theprotection of the environment. Black & Decker repair agentswill accept old Black & Decker tools and ensure that they aredisposed of in an environmentally safe way.Local regulations may provide for separate collection ofelectrical products from the household, at municipal wastesites or by the retailer when you purchase a new product.Black & Decker provides a facility for the collection andrecycling of Black & Decker products once they havereached the end of their working life. To take advantage ofthis service please return your product to any authorisedrepair agent who will collect them on our behalf.You can check the location of your nearest authorised repairagent by contacting your local Black & Decker office at theaddress indicated in this manual. Alternatively, a list ofauthorised Black & Decker repair agents and full details ofour after-sales service and contacts are available on theInternet at: www.2helpU.com.X Do not short-circuit the battery terminals.X Do not dispose of the battery in fire, as this may result inan explosion.X Run the battery down completely, then remove it fromthe appliance.X NiCd, NiMh, Lithium Ion and Lead Acid (Pb) batteriesare recyclable. They must not be disposed of withhousehold waste. Place the battery in suitablepackaging to ensure that the terminals cannot be short-circuited. Take the battery to any authorised repairagent or a local recycling station.Separate collection. This product must not bedisposed of with normal household waste.Separate collection of used products andpackaging allows materials to be recycled andused again. Re-use of recycled materials helpsprevent environmental pollution and reduces thedemand for raw materialsBlack & Decker batteries can be recharged manytimes.
