This tool is equipped with an electric cordhaving an equipment-grounding conductor and grounding plug. The plug must be pluggedinto a matching outlet that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all localcodes and ordinances. Do not modify plug provided—if it will not fit the outlet, have the properoutlet installed by a qualified electrician.Improper connection of the equipment-grounding conductor can result in a risk of electricshock. The conductor with insulation having an outer surface that is green with or withoutyellow stripes is the equipment-grounding conductor. If repair or replacement of the electriccord or plug is necessary, do not connect the equipment-grounding conductor to a liveterminal.Check with a qualified electrician or service personnel if the grounding instructions are notcompletely understood, or if in doubt as to whether the tool is properly grounded.Use only 3-wire extension cords that have 3-prong grounding plugs and 3-pole receptaclesthat accept the tool’s plug.Repair or replace damaged or worn cords immediately. This tool is intended for use on a circuit that has an outlet that looks like the one illustrated inFigure A. An undersized cord will cause a drop in line voltage resulting in loss ofpower and overheating. The following table shows the correct size to use depending oncord length and nameplate ampere rating. If in doubt, use the next heavier gage. Thesmaller the gage number, the heavier the cord.6666 ”””” BBBB EEEE NNNN CCCC HHHH GGGG RRRR IIII NNNN DDDD EEEE RRRRFIG. 11 247 635FIG. 21 234 567A B CGROUNDING PINGROUNDEDOUTLETBOX GROUNDINGMEANSADAPTER-(NOT APPLICABLE IN CANADA)Minimum Gage for Cord SetsVolts Total Length of Cord in Feet120V 0-25 26-50 51-100 101-150240V 0-50 51-100 101-200 201-300Ampere RatingMore Not more American Wire GageThan Than0 - 6 18 16 16 146 - 10 18 16 14 1210 - 12 16 16 14 1212 - 16 14 12 Not Recommended |
