7Manual ModeIn the Manual Mode the auto-zerocircuit is disabled. The unit will not zero outthe leak if the probe is held over the leaksite. This mode may require frequent read-justment of the Manual Balance control tomaintain the required 2-3 ticks per secondthat indicates proper adjustment and calibra-tion for all three sensitivity switch positions. In this mode you may notice sensitivity isslightly greater (10-20%) than the auto-zeromode. This is normal.Heater Adjustment(for optimum performance and calibration)The Calibration Reference Bottle sensorheater circuit controls the sensitivity of theunit. A heat setting that is too high causesinstability due to excessive sensitivityand shortens sensor life. The LOW / OK /HIGH LEDs in conjunction with the HeaterAdjustment and Calibration Reference Bottleis a unique system for setting the correctsensor heat (sensitivity) for optimum perfor-mance and long sensor life. The unit is pre-set for optimum initialoperation. To check the setting, slide themode switch to AUTO, turn ON the unit andallow it to stabilize (approximately 2 min-utes). When stabilized, at 2-3 clicks per sec-ond, briefly touch the Calibration ReferenceBottle with the probe (after removing thesticky label disc from the top of the bottle). If adjusted properly the red LOW LED willgo out and the green OK LED will brieflyglow. This indicates the sensor’s heat/sensi-tivity is adjusted for optimum performance. If the red LOW LED remains on when youbriefly touch the bottle, the sensor heat isset too low and the Heater Adjustment mustbe turned slightly clockwise. Allow unit tostabilize about one minute and retest. Repeat
