Microsoft® ActiveSync® 3-3Installing ActiveSync®The ActiveSync program is already installed on your device. Tosynchronize information on your device with your computer, you must alsoinstall ActiveSync on your computer. Install ActiveSync from theCompanion CD that came with your product package.NOTE Before starting the ActiveSync installation, make sure thatyou have Microsoft® Outlook® installed on your computer. Ifyou do not have Outlook, install the Microsoft® Outlook® 2002from the Companion CD. Even if you have Outlook 98 orOutlook 2000 installed, you are encouraged to update toOutlook 2002.Installing ActiveSync® on your computerTo install ActiveSync on your computer:1. Turn on your computer and monitor.NOTE Do not connect your device to your computer until you havefinished installing ActiveSync.2. Insert the Companion CD into the CD-ROM drive of your computer.The CD autoruns and displays the initial screen, then the Main Menufrom which you can start the installation.3. Click on Start Here from the Main Menu.
