Independent transmit andreceive FIFO (First In, First Out) buffersfor each of the two ports ensure consistentlysuperior performance, even during peaknetwork usage.Flexible configurationThe Adaptec Duo adapter supports bothattached network segments at full linkbandwidth. Each channel is automaticallyconfigured by the system. NWay auto-negotiation allows the adapter to detect thenetwork’s maximum line speed and adjustchannels accordingly. For maximum flexi-bility, this feature is compatible with all10 Mbps and 100 Mbps devices, includingthose without NWay line speed negotiation.Duralink™ software enabledAdaptec’s 10/100 PCI adapters are enabledto work with Adaptec’s innovative Duralinksuite of software. This suite includesDuralink Failover and Duralink PortAggregation. Duralink Failover establishesan FDDI-like port resiliency with bothactive and hot-standby links. In the eventthat the active link fails, the standby linkis automatically activated to preserve thenetwork link and maintain the server’savailability. Duralink Manager, includedwith the adapter, is a data compilation toolthat simplifies adapter monitoring andconfiguration. Duralink Port Aggregationsoftware lets users aggregate up to 12 portsper workgroup for speeds up to 1.2 Gigabitsper second. |
