Never use any product containing alcohol orother solvents as they may damage the surface.• Use caution when plugging the power transformers in an AC outlet to avoid the risk of electric shock.• Do not operate or store the system in extreme temperatures (below 32ºF/0ºC and above 122ºF/50ºC).Setting Up Bluetooth WirelessPairingBefore you stream audio to your wallplate speaker, it must first be paired with yourBluetooth enabled device. The process is simple, and in most cases the pairing processneeds to be done only once.To pair your Bluetooth-enabled device with the speaker:1. Make sure your device’s Bluetooth is turned on. See the wireless and/or networksettings menu on your device to check.2. The first time you plug in your wallplate speaker, the Pairing indicator will beginblinking rapidly and it will be ready to pair. If the indicator is off, press and hold thebutton for 3 seconds to initiate pairing.3. Open the Bluetooth settings menu on your device. Select “Acoustic ResearchWallplate” from the list of devices available (you might have to scan for devices). Ifyour device asks for a password, enter “0000”.4. The Pairing indicator turns solid blue to indicate successful connection. The speakeris now ready for you to stream audio from your device.5. Turn the volume on your device to at least 3/4 max, then start playing something onthe device. Control the volume using the volume buttons on your device.Note:• If you notice the sound from the speaker is distorted, turn down your device’s volume.For PLUGGABLE EQUIPMENT, the socket-outlet shallbe installed near the equipment and shall be easilyaccessible.The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping orsplashing or placed near objects filled with liquids.Model ARSWP1Installation and Operation ManualBluetoothWallplateSpeakerTour of the SpeakerSide panelPairing indicator shows the status of thespeaker.Blue, fast blinking: The speaker is in Bluetoothpairing mode. See the Bluetooth Setup section formore information.Blue, slow blinking: The speaker is reconnectingwith the last paired device.Solid blue: The speaker is paired with aBluetooth-enabled device and ready to play audio.Solid green:Solid green: The speaker is in standby. Press andhold the button to initiate pairing.– Press and hold (3 seconds)puts the speaker in pairing mode for Bluetoothsetup. See the Bluetooth setup section for moreinformation.Powering the SpeakerPowering the Speaker SystemPlug the speaker into any standard120V AC wall outlet.Once the speaker is plugged in, it willautomatically initiate pairing and beready to receive a connection fromyour phone or other Bluetooth device.Note: The speaker should be pluggedin so that it stays vertical or lies flat. CHARGING YOUR DEVICEThe Acoustic Research ARSWP1 Bluetooth WallplateSpeaker charges your mobile device at home.Connect the USB cable provided with your device to theUSB input jack on the side of the speaker. Connect theother end of the cable to your device to start charging.Setting Up Bluetooth WirelessReconnectingThe ARSWP1 reconnects automatically with the last paired device. When you leavethe Bluetooth operating range, it disconnects. If you come back into the Bluetoothoperating range within 15 mintues, the speaker will automatically reconnect. You willneed to press play on your device to resume audio streaming. If you have been out ofBluetooth range for more than 15 minutes, press the button for 3 secondsto reinitiate pairing. Select “Acoustic Research Wallplate” from your phone’s list ofavailable devices. The speaker will beep once it has been successfully repaired.Streaming Audio With BluetoothOnce you’ve paired and connected your device with the speaker, you can control musicplayback from the palm of your hand. Select your music, stop it, change songs andplaylists, all from your device’s screen.To adjust volume: Use the volume buttons on your device.To disconnect from the speaker: Either turn Bluetooth off on your device or choose“Disconnect” from the list of options in your device’s Bluetooth settings.To reconnect with the speaker: Press and hold the button and wait afew seconds for the speaker to find and connect to your device. If the speaker stillhasn’t found your device (which may happen if, for instance, another device has beenconnected after yours) make sure the speaker isn’t connected to another devicecurrently. Then select the Acoustic Research Wallplate from the list of Bluetoothconnections available in your device’s Bluetooth menu to connect to it.Turning the Speaker Off1. Disconnect the speaker from the 120V AC wall outlet.2. Confi rm that the speaker is off by verifying that the indicator light on the speaker’sside panel is no longer illuminated.
