17b) Procedure for preparation of USR-tunings.We recommend that you prepare USR-tunings for the center frequencies of the segments, but you cando them for other preferred frequencies.N O T EIf you use more than one antenna per segment, it is necessary that you select theproper antenna number (see S.4d) BEFORE the next step. Otherwise you may"overwrite" some useful tuning for another antenna number. To select the AUTO TUNE sub-menu while in the MAIN menu, press ENT twice:The amplifier will then wait for you to apply between 10 and 20W continuous (CW) signal with thedesired frequency. If you leave the amplifier waiting longer than 40 seconds, then it will automaticallyrevert to the MAIN menu. The automatic matching process starts the moment power remains constant within the indicatedboundaries. This is shown by the mark on the lower line which indicates the applied input power andmust be somewhere between the two brackets . The antenna impedance matchingis executed automatically in less than 3 seconds and the following message to the operator appears, while the letter "S" is being sent in CW:N O T EIf the KEY-OUT control is used (see S.2-4e), the above message will be skipped. If for some reason matching cannot be accomplished successfully (for example excessive VSWR orunstable drive power during tune-up), the process ends up with the choice of DEF-tuning and you willhear “K” being sent in CW:After removing drive power, the RCU returns automatically to the MAIN menu with USR or DEFindicated in the lower right-hand side corner.
