User’s Manual >>EN-11Charging the BatteryUsing the optional AC power adapter/charger may charge the battery oroperate the camera as power supply. Make sure that the power of the camerais off and then insert the battery before starting.1. Insert the conversion adapter into theconversion adapter terminal of the cameraas shown in the illustration.2. Insert one end of the AC power adapter/charger into the DC IN terminal of theconversion adapter.3. Insert the other end of the AC poweradapter/charger into a wall outlet.The status LED lights red when charging is started and goes out whencharging is completed.It is recommended to fully discharge or exhaust the battery beforebeing charged.Charging time varies according to the ambient temperature and thestatus of battery.This camera must be used with specified AC power adapter/charger.Damage caused by the use of an incorrect adapter is not covered underthe warranty.When the charging is not started even if following the above procedure, turn thepower on at any mode after LCD monitor turns on, and then turn the power off.The battery may feel warm after it has been charged or immediately afterbeing used. This is normal and not a malfunction.When using the camera in cold areas, keep the camera and battery warmby holding them inside your outer cloth.If you open the battery cover without removing the battery, the power willnot be terminated. If you remove the battery, you have to insert thebattery again in a period of 2 hours in order to make sure that the dateand time will not be reset.We recommend the battery should be charged 8 hours as first time use.Always first unplug the AC power adapter/charger from the power outletbefore unplugging it from the camera.Make sure that the AC power adapter/charger is always unplugged fromthe power outlet when it is not used, as it consumes power even if nocamera is connected, and moreover may increase a risk of danger.Never expose the battery or AC power adapter to dripping or sprayedwater! Moreover, never put objects or containers filled with liquids (forexample, a vase) onto the camera!A/V OUT
