AboveAir™ MissionCritical™ A/C’s AboveAir Technologies (MC22-L12)16 Guide SpecificationsGuide Specifications - MC-2x2™ MissionCritical (1-3 Tons)2.5 Accessories 2.5.1 Plenum Discharge Box(UF - Up-Flow Units)A (2-way, 3-way or ducted) plenumdischarge box shall be provided for fieldinstallation to the top of the up-flow unit.The plenum box shall be 18.5 incheshigh, insulated and powder-coat paintedto match the color of the unit. 2.5.2 Floor StandA ____ inch high floor stand shall befactory provided for field installation. Thefloor stand shall have adjustable legswith vibration isolation. 2.5.2.1 Turning VanesTurning vanes shall be factory providedwith the floor stand to direct the dis-charge air either to the front or rear ofthe unit. 2.5.3 Condensate Pump(Factory Installed - UpFlow)A condensate pump shall be factoryprovided and installed within the indoorevaporator section (Up-Flow Air PatternConfigurations). The condensate pumpshall be provided with dual internal floatswitches: one for pump operation initia-tion and the other for pump reservoiroverflow safety.(Note: Down-Flow unit Condensate PumpOption requires field installation of the pumpoutside of the A/C unit. A condensate pumpfused power supply terminal connectionshall be factory provided within the A/C unitevaporator.) 2.5.4 Hot Gas Bypass Systems 2.5.4.1 Hot Gas Bypass ToEvaporator InletEach refrigerant circuit shall be pro-vided with a factory installed hot gas(discharge) bypass valve. The hot gasbypass valve shall be designed to supplyhot gas to evaporator inlet as required toprovide coil freeze-protection and capac-ity modulation under low load conditions. 2.5.4.2 Hot Gas Bypass ToSuction Line withQuench Valve(VCH/XPU-CCU/CWU-CGURemote Condensing Units3 rd Line Not Required!)Each refrigerant circuit of the Split DXsystem shall be provided with a fac-tory installed hot gas bypass system toinclude: hot gas (discharge) bypass anddesuperheating quench. The hot gasbypass system shall be designed to sup-ply hot gas and liquid refrigerant to thesuction line as required to provide coilfreeze-protection and capacity modula-tion under low load conditions. All hotgas bypass components shall be factoryinstalled and shall not require additionalfield refrigerant lines on split DX sys-tems. 2.5.5 Suction-Line AccumulatorEach refrigerant circuit shall be providedwith a factory installed Suction-Line Ac-cumulator to prevent liquid slugging ofthe compressor and excessive refriger-ant dilution of the compressor oil duringlow load conditions. The accumulatorshall return refrigerant and oil to thecompressor at a sufficient rate to main-tain both system operating efficiency andproper oil level. The accumulators shallbe wrapped with a 1/2” closed-cell neo-prene insulation to prevent sweating. 2.5.6 Main Power, Non-FusedDisconnects(Remote Condenser Section)The remote condensing unit (or con-denser) shall be factory provided witha main power non-fused disconnect forfield installation. The disconnect shall beNEMA rated for indoor or outdoor instal-lation as required. 2.5.7 Firestat(Factory Installed)A Firestat shall be factory installed in thereturn air stream of the unit and wired tothe A/C unit electrical control panel. TheFirestat shall shut-down all A/C systemoperations upon sensing a high return airtemperature condition. 2.5.8 Smoke Detector(Factory Installed)A Smoke Detector shall be factoryinstalled in the return air stream of theunit and wired to the A/C unit electricalcontrol panel. The Smoke Detector shallshut-down all A/C system operationsupon activation. 2.5.9 Remote Water-LeakDetectorA remote water-leak detector shall befactory provided for field installation. Theremote water-leak detector shall be wiredto shut down all A/C unit water producingfunctions upon sensing a water leak. 2.5.10 Flow Switch -Water/Glycol CondenserA factory installed flow switch shallshut-down / lockout compressor opera-tion prior to the high refrigerant pressureswitch alarm upon sensing a loss or lowdx condenser water/glycol flow. A flowswitch alarm shall be indicated both viaMC-2000 microprocessor display andauxililary dry-contact terminal connec-tion. 2.5.11 Compressor Acoustic /Sound JacketEach compressor shall be provided witha factory installed compressor soundjacket with snap closure system for easeof removal and reinstallation. Soundjackets shall have a noise reduction coef-ficient (NRC) of 85 per ASTM and C-423and a sound transmission lost (STC) of11 per ASTM E-90. |
