Alarms That Resolve OnTheir OwnThe audible indicator willshut off if an alarm conditionis resolved before you pressMUTE ALARM. The visualmessage, however, willcontinue to be displayed,with the alarm header ona gray background, for 20minutes or until you pressMUTE ALARM. This allowsyou to identify the alarm thatoccurred.7.2ALARM DISPLAYThe alarm window is located in the upper left region of the display screen on the front of theAutomated Impella® Controller (see Figure 7.1). Alarms are listed in order of priority, with thehighest priority alarm at the top. Up to three alarms may be displayed at one time. The coloredbackground behind the highest priority alarm will alternate between two shades of that color.The white panel displayed to the right of the alarm header contains instructions for resolving thealarm condition. When an alarm is silenced, the words “MUTE ALARM”next to the button are replaced by the mute alarm indicator, a crossed-out bell icon (as shown inFigure 7.1).ALARM HISTORY SCREENThe alarm history screen may be accessed through the MENU. This screen contains a log of thealarms that occurred during the case. This log is not maintained when the Automated Impella®Controller is powered down or after a power failure.
