Product Guide - A5000 R5.4 – Aastra X seriesBPS0121AENAA01 Page 52/74through the MMI, so that it can be recognised by the system, and to ensure full synchronisationbetween the active motherboard and the new, passive motherboard (software, data, announcements,IVS, etc.) as soon as possible.This new motherboard is from now on the system’s passive motherboard, and will become activeduring a potential switchover in future, which can be forced through an MMI.Duplicating the hardware functionsDuring a switchover, once the passive motherboard has become active and functional, all thehardware functions become automatically available again, thanks to hardware function’s redundancyon both motherboards, and thanks to the centralisation of the front panel’s connections on the i-uctThe following functions become available again after switchover:• 10/100 BaseT IP ports• DECT synchronization port• signal processing auxiliaries (DSP)• 4 alarm loop inputs and 4 alarm loop outputs• the HDLC controller for setting up data communication in a B channel• console port• external music portData synchronisationData synchronisation is performed in real time, to bring the data on the passive board to the samelevel as the active board.This synchronisation guarantees service continuity after switchover, for the following functions:• Subscriber configuration• Network configuration• Customisation of digital terminals• DECT service• Directory numbers, etc.Software synchronisationAfter each software upgrade on the active motherboard, system and application’s software aresynchronised with the passive motherboard including: version, patch, MMI’s languages, etc.This synchronisation is done once the new software release has been validated by the Aastra XD orby the management centre.This synchronisation guarantees service continuity after switchover, for the following functions:• active software version, system and application• Digital terminal’s languages and MMI’s languages• patches
