Additional Information9 RN-001037-03 REV19 – 07.20146867i Preferred Line SupportImplemented in Release 3.3.1 SP4, Administrators and users can now specify a pre-ferred line settings. If defined, the phone will automatically switch to the preferredline after a call ends or when dialing out to make a call. The amount of time it takes forthe phone to switch back to the preferred line can also be specified.Administrators can configure this feature using the “preferred line” and “preferredline timeout” parameters using the configuration files or by navigating to Basic Set-tings > Preferences > General on the Aastra Web UI. Users can configure these parame-ters using the Aastra Web UI only.The following table provides the behavior of the preferred line feature when used inconjunction with other features on the phone:Phone Feature Preferred Line BehaviorLast Call Return The phone switches back to the focused line immediately after the call ends.Speed dial The line is already specified when the speed dial is created. The phone switchesback immediately after the call ends.Conference For incoming calls, the phone switches back immediately after the call ends.Transfer For incoming or outgoing calls, the current behavior is that the same line usedto transfer the call does not change. For incoming calls, the phone switchesback immediately after the call transfers.Park The phone switches back immediately after the call ends.Voicemail The phone switches back immediately after the call ends.Redial The phone switches back immediately after the call ends.Dialing For incomplete dialing on a non-preferred line, the focus does not change ifsome digits are entered.If no digits are entered or digits were cleared, the focus changes to preferredline after the time out has passed without activities.Caller ID If the Switch UI Focus To Ringing Line parameter is disabled, the User is able tosee the Caller ID when the phone switches the focus to the ringing line.Factory Default Factory default and recovery mode clears the preferred line and preferred linetimeout parameters, and the phone operates in a non-preferred line mode.Notes:• If the Preferred Line parameter is defined as “0”, the feature is disabled.• If Preferred Line Timeout parameter is defined as “0”, the phone switches back tothe preferred line immediately.
