The defrost water drains out through atrough into a special container at the back of the appliance, over themotor compressor, where it evaporates.FreezerThe freezer compartment, however, will become progressively cove-red with frost. This should be removed with the special plastic scraperprovided, whenever the thickness of the frost exceeds 4 mm. Duringthis operation it is not necessary to switch off the power supply or toremove the foodstuffs. However when the ice becomes very thick on the inner liner, comple-te defrosting should be carried out as follows:1. Remove the frozen food from the freezer, wrap it in several layers ofnewspaper and put it in a very cool place.2. Switch off the appliance andpull out the plug or turn the tem-perature selector to “0” OFF.3. Leave the freezer compart-ment door open.4. Insert the plastic scraper intothe recess provided under thedefrost water channel and pla-ce a collecting basin under it.5. Once defrosting is completedkeep the scraper for futureuse.
