• Ensure that the appliance is switched off beforereplacing the lamp to avoid the possibility of electricshock.• Do not use a steam cleaner to clean the appliance.• Do not use harsh abrasive cleaners or sharp metalscrapers to clean the glass door since they can scratchthe surface, which may result in shattering of the glass.• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced bythe manufacturer, its Authorised Service Centre orsimilarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.• To remove the shelf supports first pull the front of theshelf support and then the rear end away from theside walls. Install the shelf supports in the oppositesequence.• The means for disconnection must be incorporated inthe fixed wiring in accordance with the wiring rules.2. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS2.1 InstallationWARNING!Only a qualified person mustinstall this appliance.• Remove all the packaging.• Do not install or use a damagedappliance.• Obey the installation instructionsupplied with the appliance.• Always be careful when you move theappliance because it is heavy. Alwayswear safety gloves.• Do not pull the appliance by thehandle.• Keep the minimum distance from theother appliances and units.• Make sure that the appliance isinstalled below and adjacent safestructures.• The sides of the appliance must stayadjacent to appliances or to units withthe same height.2.2 Electrical connectionWARNING!Risk of fire and electricalshock.• All electrical connections should bemade by a qualified electrician.• The appliance must be earthed.• Make sure that the electricalinformation on the rating plate agreeswith the power supply. If not contactan electrician.• Always use a correctly installedshockproof socket.• Do not use multi-plug adapters andextension cables.• Make sure not to cause damage tothe mains plug and to the mainscable. Should the mains cable needto be replaced, this must be carriedout by our Authorised Service Centre.• Do not let mains cables to come intouch with the appliance door,specially when the door is hot.• The shock protection of live andinsulated parts must be fastened insuch a way that it cannot be removedwithout tools.www.aeg.com4
