38 ACS550 Userís ManualStart-up, control with I/O and ID RunHow to control the drive through the I/O interfaceThe table below instructs how to operate the drive through the digital and analoginputs when:ï the motor start-up is performed, andï the default (standard) parameter settings are valid.Displays of the Basic Control Panel are shown as an example.PRELIMINARY SETTINGSIf you need to change the direction of rotation, check that parameter1003 is set to 3 (REQUEST ).Ensure that the control connections are wired according to theconnection diagram given for the ABB Standard macro.See section ABB Standardmacro on page 72.Ensure that the drive is in remote control. Press key to switchbetween remote and local control.In remote control, the paneldisplay shows text REM.STARTING AND CONTROLLING THE SPEED OF THE MOTORStart by switching digital input DI1 on.Assistant Control Panel: The arrow starts rotating. It is dotted until thesetpoint is reached.Basic Control Panel: Text FWD starts flashing fast and stops after thesetpoint is reachedRegulate the drive output frequency (motor speed) by adjusting thevoltage of analog input AI1.CHANGING THE DIRECTION OF ROTATION OF THE MOTORReverse direction: Switch digital input DI2 on.Forward direction: Switch digital input DI2 off.STOPPING THE MOTORSwitch digital input DI1 off.
