12 OI/266/HART-EN Rev. M | 2600T Series Pressure transmitters5 Mounting5 Mounting5.1 GeneralStudy these installation instructions carefully before proceeding.Failure to observe the warnings and instructions may cause amalfunction or personal hazard. Before installing thetransmitter, check whether the device design meets therequirements of the measuring point from a measurementtechnology and safety point of view. This applies in respect of the:— Explosion protection certification— Measuring range— Gauge pressure stability— Temperature (Ambient and Process)— Operating voltageThe suitability of the materials must be checked as regardstheir resistance to the media. This applies in respect of the:— Gasket— Process connection, isolating diaphragm, etc.In addition, the relevant directives, regulations, standards, andaccident prevention regulations must be observed (e.g., VDE/VDI 3512, DIN 19210, VBG, Elex V, etc.). Measurementaccuracy is largely dependent on correct installation of thepressure transmitter and, if applicable, the associatedmeasuring pipe(s). As far as possible, the measuring setupshould be free from critical ambient conditions such as largevariations in temperature, vibrations, or shocks.Important. If unfavorable ambient conditions cannot be avoided forreasons relating to building structure, measurement technology, orother issues, the measurement quality may be affected. If a remoteseal with capillary tube is installed on the transmitter, the additionaloperating instructions for remote seals and the related data sheetsmust be observed.5.2 IP protection & designationThe housings for 266 transmitters are certified as conforming toprotection type IP66 / IP67 (according to IEC 60529) or NEMA4X (according to NEMA 250).The first number indicates the type of protection the integratedelectronics have against the entry of foreign bodies, includingdust.“6” means that the housing is dust-proof (i.e., no ingress ofdust). The second number indicates the type of protection thehousing has against the entry of water.“6” means that the housing is protected against water;specifically, powerful jets of water under standardizedconditions.“7” means that the housing is protected against water;specifically, against the effects of temporary immersion in waterunder standardized water pressure and temporal conditions.5.3 Mounting the transmitter5.3.1 Transmitter factory configuration considerationThe 266 pressure transmitter in your hands has been factorycalibrated to reflect the published declared performancespecification; no further calibration is required in normalcondition. ABB typically configures 266 pressure transmittersaccording to the user requirements. A typical configurationincludes:— TAG number— Calibrated span— Output linearization— LCD display configuration5.3.2 Hazardous area considerationsThe transmitter must be installed in hazardous area only if it isproperly certified. The certification plate is permanently fixed onthe neck of the transmitter top housing. The 266 PressureTransmitter Line can have the following certifications:ATEX INTRINSIC SAFETY— II 1 G Ex ia IIC T6…T4 Ga IP67— II 1/2 G Ex ia IIC T6…T4 Ga/Gb; IP67— II 1 D Ex ia IIIC T85°C Da; IP67— II 1/2 D Ex ia IIIC T85°C Da: IP67ATEX EXPLOSION PROOF— II 1/2 G Ex db IIC T6 Ga/Gb Ta = -50°C to +75ºC; IP67—II 1/2 D Ex tb IIIC T85°C Db Ta = -50°C to +75ºC; IP67ATEX TYPE “N” / EUROPE:—II 3 G Ex ic IIC T6…T4 Gc IP67—II 3 D Ex tc IIIC T85°C Dc IP67COMBINED ATEX, ATEX FM and FM Canada:— See detailed classificationsFM Approvals US and FM Approvals Canada:— Explosionproof (US): Class I, Div. 1, Groups A, B, C, D— Explosionproof (Canada): Class I, Div. 1, Groups B, C, D— Dust ignitionproof: Class II, Div. 1, Groups E, F, G— Nonincendive: Class I, Div. 2, Groups A, B, C, D— Intrinsically safe: Class I, II, III, Div. 1, Groups A,B,C,D,E,F, G— Class I, Zone 0, AEx ia IIC T6/T4 (FM US)— Class I, Zone 0, Ex ia IIC T6/T4 (FM Canada)IEC (Ex):— See detailed classificationsNEPSI INTRINSIC SAFETY/CHINA approval Ex ia IIC T4-T6NEPSI FLAMEPROOF/CHINA approval Ex d IIC T6INMETRO BRAZIL - based on ATEXTECHNICAL REGULATION CUSTOM UNION for Russia,Kazakhstan, Belarus - based on EACWarning - General Risk for model 266 used in zone 0.The enclosure contains aluminum and is considered to present apotential risk of ignition by impact or friction.
