24General InformationRN Series packaged rooftop units, heatpumps and outdoor air handling units havebeen designed for outdoor installation only.Units are assembled, wired, charged and runtested at the factory.Startup and service must be performed by aFactory Trained Service Technician.Certification of Gas Heat Modelsa. AAON gas heat exchangers havesuccessfully completed 10,000 burneroperation cycles and corrosion resistanceas specified per test standard ANSI21.47. All gas heat exchangers used inAAON appliances are certified for usedownstream of evaporator or coolingcoils.b. Certified as a Category III forced airfurnace with or without cooling.c. Certified for outdoor installation only.d. Certified for installation on acombustible roof with a minimum of 12”high curb.Certification of Steam or Hot Water HeatModelsa. Certified as a forced air heating systemwith or without cooling.b. Certified for outdoor installation only.c. Certified for installation on acombustible roof with a minimum of 12”high curb.Certification of Electric Heat Modelsa. Certified as an electric warm air furnacewith or without cooling.b. Certified for outdoor installation only.c. Certified for installation on acombustible roof with a minimum of 12”high curb.Certification of Cooling Modelsa. Certified with refrigerant R-410A coilsor with chilled water cooling coils.Codes and OrdinancesRN Series units have been tested andcertified, by ETL, in accordance with ULSafety Standard 1995/CSA C22.2 No. 236,ANSI Safety Standard Z21.47b-2008/CSA2.3b-2008, and ANSI Safety StandardZ83.8-2006/CSA 2.6-2006.System should be sized in accordance withthe American Society of Heating,Refrigeration and Air ConditioningEngineers Handbook.Improper installation, adjustment,alteration, service, or maintenancecan cause property damage,personal injury or loss of life. Startupand service must be performed by aFactory Trained Service Technician.A copy of this IOM should be keptwith the unit.WARNINGThese units must not be used forheating or cooling at any time duringany phase of construction. Very lowreturn air temperatures, harmfulvapors, and misplacement of thefilters will damage the unit and itsefficiency.CAUTION
