DocuMate 152 Scanner User’s Guide 85Scanning with the TWAIN Interface from PaperPort3. Click the Scanner drop-down arrow, and select TWAIN: XeroxDocuMate 152 from the drop-down list.4. In the “Scan what?” section, choose to scan a Document orPhotograph.If you want to change the format of the scanned item’s filename or file type before you start scanning, click Settings. Thedefault file type for documents is .pdf and the default forphotographs is .jpg. See the ScanSoft PaperPort User’s Guidefor more information about the PaperPort Settings.5. When scanning documents, use the Create single page itemscheck box as follows:• When the check box is selected, all pages in the AutomaticDocument Feeder are scanned, the TWAIN interfacecloses, and each page is placed on the PaperPort Desktopas an individual file.• When the check box is not selected, the scanned pages arenot placed on the PaperPort Desktop until you indicate thescanning job is finished by clicking Done on the TWAINinterface then clicking Done on the PaperPort-Scanwindow. Multiple pages are “stacked” on the PaperPortDesktop. Please see the ScanSoft PaperPort User’s Guidefor more information about stacks.6. The option Blank page is job separator is for when you loadseveral separate scanning jobs into the Automatic DocumentFeeder at the same time. Insert a blank page between themand each job will become a separate stack on the PaperPortDesktop when scanning is finished.Please see the ScanSoft PaperPort User’s Guide for moreinformation about this option.NOTE: If the Scan button at the bottom of panel is not availablewhen you make a selection from the Scanner drop-down list,your computer needs to be setup to use the scanner. See thesection “Setting Up PaperPort to Work with Your Scanner” onpage 92.NOTE: Please wait a few moments for your selection from thedrop-down list to become active. This delay only occurs the firsttime you select from the list while PaperPort initializes thescanner. Later on, selecting from the list happens right away.
