Trouble shooting - frequently asked questionsSCANNERS does not remember patternMemory loss will occur whenever the positive wire losescontact with the battery for a moment. This can occur ifthe positive wire is attached to the wrong contact on thefuse box or some other location in the vehicle. Try toconnect the SCANNERS positive wire directly to thebattery positive terminal.SCANNERS does not work when connected to myalarmIf you want the SCANNERS to turn on when you activateyou alarm system you must connect the orange SCANNERwire to the grounded output (when armed) of your alarmsystem. DO NOT CONNECT TO THE LED OUTPUT!.The LED output wire only provides a 2-3 volts flashing.Refer to your alarm system installation manual or askyour local dealer for the correct ground output wire.My SCANNERS does not turn off when I arm my alarmsystem.This situation is caused by ground leakage through theignition kill relay. You must install a diode per the followingdiagram.How to select Patterns:Ignition must be “ON” or alarm is “disarmed”, press programbutton (Paper clip for VS550 Series) momentarily andSCANNERS will display next pattern. Repeat to viewnext pattern.How to change speed:Ignition must be “ON” or alarm is “disarmed”, push andhold program button until the speed changes . Repeat toselect next speed.®®®®®®BlackRedOrange®®Varad’s product warranty covers against breakage due to defects in materials or workmanshipfor one year from the date of purchase.
