RECOMMENDATIONS AND SAFETYINSTRUCTIONSDo not install your DECT telephone in a dampenvironment, such as a bathroom, washroom,kitchen etc, and not within 1.50 metres of asource of water or outside. This device isdesigned for use in temperatures of between5 °C and 45 °C.Do not attempt to remove screws or open theappliance. It does not contain any user-replaceable parts.Only use the power unit supplied and connect itto the electricity mains in accordance with theinstallation instructions in this user manual andthe details on the sticker regarding voltage,electrical current and frequency. As a precautionif there is a risk of danger, the power plug can bepulled out to disconnect the 230 volt powersupply. Therefore the sockets should be nearthe device and easily accessible.This device is designed to be used forconnecting to the public telephone network. Ifproblems should arise, contact your nearestspecialist dealer. Only use the telephone cablesupplied.For safety reasons, never put the handset in thebase station without the battery inserted orwithout the lid on the battery compartment asthis could cause an electric shock.To avoid damaging your handset/base, only usecertified rechargeable batteries NiMH 1.2 V 450mAh, never use non rechargeable batteries.Insert the batteries in the handset/base batterycompartment respecting polarity.The used battery must be disposed of in line withthe recycling regulations in this user manual.Your DECT telephone has a range of approx. 50metres indoors and up to 300 metres outdoors.The range can be affected by the proximity ofmetal objects, such as a television and electricaldevices.Zones without reception may appear owing toelements in the building. This can cause briefinterruptions in the conversation, caused byfaulty transmission.Certain medical equipment and highly-sensitivemachines or security systems may be affectedby the transmission power of the telephone. Inthese cases we recommend adhering to thesafety information.In regions greatly affected by electrical stormswe recommend that you protect your telephonecircuit with a special fixture for excess voltage.Your SIXTY has anti-skid pads that should leaveno traces on your furniture and ensure stability.However, given the the wide variety of finishesused by furniture manufacturers, traces mayappear on surfaces in contact with the parts ofyour SIXTY.
