It is important this instruction manualis retained with the bath lift for futurereference. Should the bath lift be sold ortransferred to another owner or should youmove house and leave the bath lift, alwaysensure this instruction manual is availablefor the new owner to know the functioningof the bath lift and the relevant warnings.These warnings are important and MUSTbe read before installing or using the bathlift.IMPORTANT SAFETYINFORMATIONINSTALLATIONUSEIt is imperative the installation iscarried out safely and correctly andis undertaken by an experiencedprofessional familiar with buildingconstruction.Ensure there are no pipes or electricalcables that could be damaged whenfixing the unit to the wall and floor.When fixing to a “studded” or non-solidwall, reinforcement may be requiredto ensure the bath lift will take theperson’s weight and operate safely.The maximum lifting weight is 127 kg(280 lbs) and MUST not be exceeded.CHILD SAFETYDo not allow children to play with thebath lift. It is not a toy.Remove the battery to a safe andsecure place if there is a possibilitychildren will have access to thebath lift.The battery charger must not be usedin the bathroom.The battery weighs 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs)and should be handled carefully.Keep the battery well charged.The belt must be located in the flooranchor correctly. Make sure theretaining discs prevent the belt fromcoming out.Always be aware of the floor anchorfitting. DO NOT TRIP OVER IT.If you have any doubt as to your abilityto use the bath lift totally unattendedyou should ensure that you have acapable carer present.Make use of the grab rail to steadyyourself when entering or exitingthe bath.The maximum lifting weight of 127 kg(280lbs) should not be exceeded andthe bath lift used only for the purpose itis intended.The bather should take care to keepfingers away from where the beltenters the bath lift cover.When used for the first few times thebather should accustom themselvesto the lifting and lowering motionparticularly the sideways re-adjustmentas the belt is being fed from oneside only.Ensure the battery charge lead isplugged into the small socket on thebattery shown by the arrow and NOTin the large central socket.Do not clean the belt with bleach orsimilar skin irritating substance.!2 |
