- 7 -• Field Setup Mode (PRESET OFF)This mode is effective in conditions where theimportant object in the scene is not locatedcentrally in the picture and when a bright lightsource is located near the centre of thescreen.A conventional camera cannot cope with thesesituations. However, by using the WV-BS300 in the preset"OFF" mode, it is possible to compensate fordifficult lighting conditions. In this mode, thepicture is divided into 48 zones or mask areas. It is possible to mask (or tell the camera toignore) any bright light sources in those maskareas that might interfere with picture clarity. For example, a strong spotlight in the back-ground might cause the lens iris to close downNight DayB Night and Dayso much that all other objects in the sceneappear dark. With the field setup mode forback light compensation, it is possible to maskout the spotlight and increase the rest of thescene's brightness as shown below. In addition to the mask area setup, the overallvideo output level can be adjusted by using thelevel adjustment (LEVEL) while in the preset"OFF" mode for both the "ALC" and "ELC"modes.Note:The end result of the field setup of themask area and level adjustment is thegeneration of a feed back control signal tothe lens iris when in the "ALC" mode, or aexposure time control signal to the CCDimage sensor when in the "ELC" mode.(3) Shutter Speed (SHUTTER)The electronic shutter speed can be selected from 1/50 second (OFF) to1/120 - 1/10000 second.Note:Refer to "Shutter Speed Setting" on page 12 for detailed procedures.OFF 1/120 1/250 1/5001/1000 1/2000 1/4000 1/10000(4) Gain Control (AGC)The gain control mode can be selected between automatic gain control(AGC ON) and manual gain control (AGC OFF) by this menu.Note:Refer to "Gain Control Setting (AGC ON/OFF)" on page 12 for detailedprocedures.** SET UP **CAMERA ID OFF *ALC/MANUAL ALC *SHUTTER OFFAGC ONSYNC INTAUTO PAN OFFSPECIAL *** SET UP **CAMERA ID OFF *ALC/MANUAL ALC *SHUTTER OFFAGC ONSYNC INTAUTO PAN OFFSPECIAL *(5) Synchronization (SYNC)In the setup menu it is possible to select either the internal syncmode (INT) or the line-lock sync mode (LL).Additionally, this camera accepts the VD2 signal, which is the verticaldrive signal multiplexed with the composite video output signal froma component such as the WJ-MP404 multiplex unit. The VD2 signalallows for roll-free vertical interval switching in a sequentialswitcher.Whenever VD2 is supplied to this camera, the cameraautomatically switches into the VD2 sync mode.In the submenus of the synchronization section of the setup menu, adjustments are possible for the vertical phase adjustment for theline-lock mode.** SET UP **CAMERA ID OFF *ALC/MANUAL ALC *SHUTTER OFFAGC ONSYNC INTAUTO PAN OFFSPECIAL *
