This is nota malfunction.If the battery lidcomes looseSlide the tid back intoplace horizontally.Removing batteriesPush up on the batteryin the direction indicat-ed by the arrow, Thenlift it out.Using the car adaptorThe SL-S361C and SL-S362C come with a car adaptor.Be sure to use the adaptor specially designed for thesemodels.(Refer to the separate installation instructions.)Be sure to obtain the car adaptor (SH-CDC9} for SL-$360 and SL-S365, available as an optional accessory.The car adaptor can be used to recharge the unit's bat-teries while in the car.CAUTION: (SL-S360/SL-S365)Use only car adaptor, Model: SH-CDC9 manufac-tured by Matsushita Electric Industrial Co.,Ltd.Using dry-cell batteries(not included)After disconnecting the AC adaptor, insert two “AA”(LA6} alkaline batteries.The procedure for inserting and removing dry-cellbatteries is identical to that for rechargeable bat-terles.Battery indicatorin C2 Battery indicatoriu 4448 iThis indicator flashes on and off when the batteries arealmost out of power.
