Power Supply PreparationsRefer to the specifications (page 8) for information on operating times when using rechargeable batteries or dry-cell batteries.Using rechargeable batteriesObtain the optional rechargeable batteries for SL-S220, SL-S320,$L-S221C, SL-$321C and SL-S332C.Make sure to recharge the batteries before using them. The unitcannot be used to charge rechargeable batteries other than thosespecifically designed for it.*Supplied batteries for SL-S225 (RP-BP6})Optional batteries (SH-CDB8D)Recharging procedure1 insert the special rechargeabie bat-teries into the unit.2 Connect the AC adaptor.DC IN jack (DC IN 4.5 V o@@)3 When recharging is complete, un-plug the AC adaptor from the poweroutlet and the DC IN jack.Accidental OperationPrevention Functionelt takes approximately three hours to fully recharge therechargeable batteries,*Rechargeable batteries have a service life of approximately300 charge-discharge cycles. [f the operating time on one fullcharge becomes noticeably shorter than it used to be, the bat-tery has reached the end of its service life and should be re-placed.eYou can operate the unit with the AC adaptor while rechargingthe batteries, but it will lengthen the recharging time.+The AC adaptor and rechargeable batteries may become warmwhile recharging is in progress. The car adaptorcan be used to recharge the unit's batteries while in the car.CAUTION:Use only car adaptor, Model: SH-CDC9 manufac-tured by Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.Using dry-cell batteries(not included)After disconnecting the AC adapter, insert two “AA” (LR6) alka-line batteries.The procedure for inserting and removing dry-cellbatteries is identical to that for rechargeable bat-teries.Battery indicatorThis indicator flashes on and off when the batteries are almostout of power. Power is cut off completely a short while later.Rechargeable batteries: Recharge batteries.Dry-ceil batteries: Replace batteries with new ones.®The length of time the unit will continue to operate betweenwhen the battery indicator starts flashing and when the poweris cut off differs depending on the type of batteries used.©The battery indicator may not flash if rechargeable batteries,other than those designated by Panasonic, are used.Locations of ControlsBack panel ofthe unitThis function causes the unit to ignore short,accidental button presses.
