Note the following points:• Place speakers on flat secure bases.• Placing speakers too close to floors, walls, and corners can result in excessive bass. The angles in the diagram areapproximate.Main Unit• Other speaker setup options (\ page 6).Use only supplied speakers• Using other speakers can damage the unit, andsound quality will be negatively affected.• Set the speakers up on an even surface to preventthem from falling. Take proper precautions toprevent the speakers from falling if you cannot setthem up on an even surface.Main unit• Keep your speakers at least 10 mm away from thesystem for proper ventilation.• To allow proper ventilation and to maintain goodairflow around the main unit, position it with at least5 cm of space on all sides.• Do not block the ventilation holes of the main unit.Center speaker• Vibration caused by the center speaker can disruptthe picture if it is placed directly on the television.Put the center speaker on a rack or shelf.• To prevent the speakers from falling, do not placedirectly on top of the television.Subwoofer• Place to the right or left of the television, on thefloor or a sturdy shelf so that it will not causevibration. Leave a space of 30 cm from thetelevision.Caution• Refrain from holdingthe speaker’s net.Example: Front speakerNote• You can damage your speakers and shorten theiruseful life if you play sound at high levels overextended periods.• Reduce the volume in the following cases to avoiddamage:– When playing distorted sound.– When the speakers are reverberating due toa record player, noise from FM broadcasts, orcontinuous signals from an oscillator, test disc, orelectronic instrument.– When adjusting the sound quality.– When turning the unit on or off.If irregular coloring occurs on your televisionThe front and center speakers are designed tobe used close to a television, but the picturemay be affected with some televisions and setupcombinations.If this occurs, turn the television off for about 30minutes.The television’s demagnetizing function shouldcorrect the problem. If it persists, move the speakersfurther away from the television.Caution• Use the speakers only with the recommendedsystem. Failure to do so can damage theamplifier and speakers, and can cause fire.Consult a qualified service person if damageoccurs or if a sudden change in performanceis apparent.• Do not attempt to attach these speakersto walls using methods other than thosedescribed in this manual.
