Extension does notoperate.Improper reset operation.Noise during externalpaging.Volume distortion fromexternal music source.Speed Dialing or One-Touch Dialing does notfunction.A proprietary telephoneconnected to extensionjacks 01 through 08 or09 through 16 does notoperate, but a single linetelephone operates.PROBABLE CAUSEPROBLEM6-2 Troubleshooting6.1 While InstallingPOSSIBLE SOLUTIONSomething is wrong withthe printed circuit board(Extension Card).Something is wrong withthe connection between thesystem and extension.A telephone with an A-A1relay is connected.Something is wrong withthe extension.Induced noise on the wirebetween the system and theamplifier.Excessive input level fromexternal music source.Wrong programming.An extension (H, L) jack 01through 08 or09 through 16 may havebeen shorted.Exchange the printed circuit boardwith another printed circuit board.Take the extension and plug it intothe same extension port using ashort telephone cord. If thetelephone works correctly, theconnection between the system andthe extension must be repaired.Use a 2 wire cord.Set the A-A1 relay switch on thetelephone to the “OUT” or “OFF”position.Take the extension and plug it intoanother extension port that isworking. If the telephone does notwork, replace the phone.Turn the Power Switch “OFF” andthen “ON”.Use a shielded cable as theconnection wire between thesystem and amplifier. A shortshielded cable is recommended.Decrease the output level of theexternal music source by using thevolume control on the musicsource.Enter an outside line accessnumber (9 or 0, 81 through 86) inprogramming.Turn the Power Switch “OFF”.Fix the shorted part, then turn thePower Switch “ON”.
