Room-air-dependent heat-pro-ducing appliances (e.g. gas, oil, wood or coal-operated heaters, continuous flow heaters orwater heaters) obtain combustion air from theroom in which they are installed and dis-charge the exhaust gases into the openthrough an exhaust gas system (e.g. a chim-ney). With the extractor hood switched on, airis extracted from the kitchen and the adjacentrooms. Without an adequate supply of air, theair pressure falls below atmospheric pressure. |
