Using ascrew-driver,tightenthescrew.Do not overtighten.Overtightening could stdp the screwholes.Do not operate the cleaner withoutthe screw in place.CORD ASSEMBLYMake sure the quick release upper cordhook is in the upright position. Removethe wire tie from the power cord.Lock the cordinto place byforcing it into thelocking notch onthe body of thequick releaseupper cord hookas shown. Thishelps keep thepower cord outfrom under thevacuum cleaneragitator.PowerCordWrap the power cord around the upperand lower cord hooks and lock the powercord plug onto the power cord.Quick ReleasUpper CordHookPowerCordCordHOW TO STARTQuick Releaseer Cord1. Turn thequickreleaseupper cordhook toeither sideand down torelease thepower cord.2. Release the power cord plug from thepower cord and pull the cord off the quickrelease upper cord hook. Check to besure the power cord is still locked into thelock in the quick release upper cord hook.3. Check to see if the cleaner has baginstalled. See DUST BAG CHANGING.NOTE: To reduce the risk of electricshock, this vacuum cleaner has a polar-ized plug, one blade is wider than theother.This plug will fit in a polarized outlet onlyone way. If the plug does not fit fully in theoutlet, reverse the plug. If it still does notfit, contact a qualified technician to installthe proper outlet. Do not change the plugin any way.4.
