– 9Observe regulations of water supplier.For connection values, see type plate/tech-nical data. Use a fibre-reinforced water hose (notincluded) with a standard coupling.(Minimum diameter 1/2 inch (13 mm),minimum length 7.5 m).CautionHose couplings made of metal with aquas-top can damage the pump! Please useplastic couplings or KÄRCHER brass cou-plings.Illustration Screw the coupling element to the wa-ter connection on the appliance. Push the water supply hose onto thecoupling unit, then connect it to the wa-ter supply.This high-pressure cleaner is suited to workwith the KÄRCHER suction hose with back-flow valve (Optional accessory, order no.4.440-238) to draw in surface water, e.g.from water butts or ponds (see specifica-tions for max. suction height). Fill the KÄRCHER suction hose withbackflow valve with water, screw to wa-ter supply and hang into the water butt. Remove air from appliance before oper-ation.Switch on the appliance without con-nection the high-pressure hose (max. 2minutes) and run it until the water dis-charging from the high-pressure outletis free of bubbles. Switch off applianceand reconnect high-pressure hose.CautionDry runs lasting longer than two minuteslead to damages to the high pressurepump. If the appliance does not build uppressure within two minutes, switch it offand proceed as instructed in the Chapter"Troubleshooting".Illustration Push the spray lance into the trigger gunand fasten it by turning it through 90°.Illustration Unwind the high pressure hose com-pletely from the hose drum. Hold on tothe transport handle during this proce-dure.Note: If the hand crank is in its securedposition, fold it up first. Completely open the water tap. Completely uncoil the mains cable. Insert the mains plug into the socket. Turn on the appliance “I/ON”. DangerThe trigger gun is subjected to a recoil forcewhen the water jet is discharged. Makesure that you have a firm footing and arealso holding the trigger gun and spray lancefirmly.CautionPrior to cleaning, make sure that the highpressure is placed safely on level ground.Wear protective goggles and protectiveclothing during the cleaning process. Unlock the lever on the trigger gun. Pull on the lever of the trigger gun; thedevice will switch on.Note: Release the lever of the trigger gun;the device will switch off again. High pres-sure remains in the system.Carrying out the most common cleaningtasks.
