-3-The ESC333 offers two uniqueuser-convenience features:Automatic Turn-On/Shut-Downand Automatic Digital-InputSelection.The Automatic Turn-On featurewill turn the ESC333 on as soonas a source connected to itsdigital inputs (such as DVD, CDplayer with digital output, orany other device featuring acoaxial or optical digital output)is switched on, or as soon as theunit connected to its last-usedanalog input starts outputtingsound.When using digital inputs, theAutomatic Turn-On can beactivated by turning on eitherone of the connected digitalsources such as a DVD player ora CD player with digital output.When using analog inputs (TV orAUX), Automatic Turn-On isavailable only for the devicethat was last listened to beforethe ESC333 shut down. In orderto listen to the other device, theESC333 input needs to bemanually selected by using theInput button on the product andon the remote, which, in turn,disables the Automatic Digital-Input Selector until the ESC333is shut down.The Automatic Turn-Off shutsthe unit down five minutes afterall sources connected to itsdigital inputs are powered downand the device connected to itsselected analog input stopsplaying.The Automatic Digital-InputSelector automatically selectsthe source connected to itsdigital inputs when that sourceis powered on. Upon powerdown of this digital unit, if noother source is on, the ESC333will switch itself off after fiveminutes.If the analog source that wasselected prior to the digitalsource turning on is stillplaying, the ESC333 will switchback to that other source. Oncea digital source is powered onand selected as an input,turning on a device connectedto the other digital input willnot switch the input until theselected digital device is firstpowered off.These two features can only beused if the customer does notmanually turn the ESC333 on oroff, and does not manuallyselect an input source. Onceeither of these selections ismade manually, the automaticfeatures are disabled as follows:1. If the ESC333 is turned offmanually, it will not turn backon automatically until fiveminutes after the sourceconnected to the ESC333 is shutdown. During these fiveminutes, it can be turned oneither from the front panel orvia the remote control.2. Once an input source isselected manually, theAutomatic Source-Selectionfeature will remain disableduntil the ESC333 shuts down.3. Once any one of the twodevices connected to the ESC333digital inputs is powered on andits input is selected by theESC333, the device connected tothe other digital input of theESC333 cannot be automaticallyselected until the already-selected digital device ispowered down.Important NoteAutomatic On/Off and Automatic Digital-Input Selection
