Connecting the 2200About ImpedanceBefore you hook up your speaker cabinet, be sure that you understand a little aboutimpedance. Impedance is the electronic load that the speaker puts on the power amplifierand is measured in Ohms. Here is the tricky, yet simple rule of impedance: When two speakers are wired in "Parallel"the total impedance is cut in half and when two speakers are wire in “Series” the totalimpedance is the sum of the speakers individual impedance. The 2200 impedance (many audio guys used the made up word “ohmage”, however thecorrect term is impedance) is 4 Ohms. So, when two 2200ʼs are connected together inparallel, the total impedance is 2 Ohms. The impedance of your speaker also has aneffect on your amplifier. In general, the lower the impedance, the more power your ampli-fier will put out.IMPORTANT: There is a minimum safe impedance so be sure to check the manufacturerʼsrecommended impedance for your amplifier to avoid any damage to your amplifier or void-ing your warranty.Connecting the 2200 to Your AmplifierThe 2200 connections are made via 1/4” phone jacks located on the rear panel jack-plate.Be sure to make your connection with un-shielded speaker cable. Connect the AmplifierOutput to the speaker Input on the 2200ʼs rear jackplate.Using the HIGH FREQUENCY switchYou can tailor the high frequency response of your 4200 by using the High Frequencycontrol switch. This three-position switch allows you to set the output level of the high fre-quency compression driver to ON, OFF and PAD. In the ON position, the high frequencycompression driver is active andproducing brightness to help you cutthrough the backline, or enhance snap-ping and harmonics during solo pas-sages. If your ideal sound is less bright, you can set the HIGH FREQUENCYto the PAD position, which will reducethe compression driver output by 3dB.If you are looking for a deeper tone, setthe HIGH FREQUENCY control switchin the middle position and the compres-sion driver will be completely off.Using the EXTENSION OutputThe 2200 provides both 1/4-inch andSpeakon connections. You can useeither connector to connect to youramplifier head. Since both the 1/4-inch phone and Speakon connectorsare wired in parallel, you can connectadditional speaker cabinets using eitherconnector as an extension output. Besure to read the section above onimpedance to insure a proper hook-upwith your amplifier.Hartke SystemsDistributed Exclusively bySamson Technologies Corp.Hicksville, New York 11802MODEL 2000200 WATTS8= 120 WATTS4= 200 WATTSCAUTIONTO PREVENT SHOCK, DO NOT OPEN.
