22 P61A Pellet StoveMaintenanceMinimizing Creosote:Whenever wood is burned slowly, the potential exists for creosoteto form in the venting. The chimney or venting system should beinspected periodically throughout the heating season to determine ifa creosote buildup has occurred. If a significant layer of creosote hasaccumulated (mm or more), it should be removed to reduce the riskof a chimney fire. A professional chimney sweep is recommended,since they would normally have the correct equipment to ensureproper creosote removal.If you experience a fire in the venting system, turn the stove to"OFF" to allow the unit to shut down. Call the fire department, and besure everyone is out of the residence. Before re-using the appliance,have the venting system thoroughly inspected and replace anydamaged components.The glass in your Harman stove is a special ceramic glass.dO nOt abuse the glass by striking or slamming the door.neveR burn the appliance if the door glass is cracked or broken.Replace OnlY with Harman supplied glass.Soot and/or fly-ash may accumulate onthe viewing glass, and will occasionallyneed to be cleaned. Clean the glasswith a soft cloth and mild glass cleaner.dO nOt clean the glass when hot,and avoid the use of abrasive clean-ers.glass replacementcarefully remove all remaining glassand gasket materials prior to replacingthe glass.Lay the door face down on a flatsurface. Remove the glass retainersand screws. Apply the gasket materialto the face of the new glass. Lay theglass into the door, making sure thatthe glass is contained within the chan-nels and raised areas of the door itself.Lay the glass retainers into positionand install the screws.
